Day 6 of Fraudmas: Fake Holiday Job Offers & “Easy Money” Scams

Because seasonal hiring is booming...and scammers are too.People want extra holiday cash and scammers know this.

The scam in action:
You see a job posting that pays $35–$45/hr with no experience needed. You apply, they “hire” you instantly (no interview) then they ask for:
- Your personal info
- An upfront fee
- Your bank account info
Or they ask you to deposit a check (which will bounce) and then request you send that money back to them.
How to protect yourself
1. Real jobs never require fees to apply.
2. If you're hired without an interview → scam.
3. Check the company’s official career website. If the job isn’t there, it doesn’t exist.
4. Never deposit checks for employers. This scam costs victims thousands.
