Scholarships

Your education is important to us and we want to help ease the financial burden that college expenses can bring. Every year the credit union provides three John J. Walsh Memorial Scholarships, one Jesse Miller, Kappa Alpha Phi, Inc. Scholarship and one Harry C. Ovitt Jr. Memorial Scholarship to high school seniors that are members of the Credit Union. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity for free money!

  • Harry C. Ovitt, Jr. Memorial Scholarship $3,000.00 (One awarded)
  • Jesse Miller, Fredericksburg(VA) Alumni Chapter, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc Scholarship $1,000.00 (One awarded)
  • John J. Walsh Memorial Scholarships $1,000.00 (Three awarded)

Essay title:   If you were to develop a financial education program, what topics would you consider most relevant to students?  How would you market it (what format), and how would you measure your success in reaching your generation?

Scholarship Application

Essays are evaluated by persons not affiliated with Topside FCU. This group does not see the application and is only provided the essay to determine the winners of the scholarship. The deadline to be considered for the 2020 Topside FCU scholarships is March 15, 2020.  The scholarship funds will be sent to the college, university, or trade school in the name of the student and must be used within one year.
