Our History
On December 6, 1961, John Walsh, Charles Middlebrook, Edward Council, Edwin Franklin, Paul Wiggins, Mike Oberschmidt, Frank Brooks, and Vadine Walker subscribed their signatures to an Organization Certificate to establish a federal credit union at the Naval Weapons Laboratory in Dahlgren, Virginia. This certificate was approved by the Department of Health, Education and Welfare on December 18, 1961.
Eight people with no assets, and no office space, ready to collect money for savings and to make loans.
